Global Core Manufacturing Director (all genders)
What you can change — your duties
- Coordinate global experts in manufacturing engineering regarding standardization and modularization of manufacturing processes
- Analyze and propose potentials for automation and standardization in manufacturing processes, including evaluation of useful and efficient automation considering different requirements in the business units and regions
- Identify key processes, compare existing approaches and make proposals for improvements, standardization and automation
- Analyze and propose process improvements (assembly concepts, best practice sharing)
- Analyze potential production methods and concepts (line concepts, assembly concepts, robots), including considerations on flexibility (“lot size 1) and modularization (also: reusability) of equipment
- Recommend and develop process and technology roadmaps together with operational units
- Prepare and recommend implementation plans considering given resource constraints
- Drive and support general standards in production processes
- Foster and enable global information exchange and benchmarking regarding manufacturing technologies and processes
- Optimize operations within the field, unite diverse agendas to common goal, and harness strategic and operational drivers to deliver results
- Align initiatives across regions and divisions
- Evaluate and prioritize Core Manufacturing projects according to the defined requirements
- Identify best fitting team/ region/ plant for specific Core Manufacturing project, make proposal for team assignment
- Functionally lead, guide, and align the (globally dispersed) core manufacturing engineers and teams in the regions and/or product groups/ business units
- Align and exchange with and give input to the Advanced Manufacturing / Industry 4.0 team regarding future manufacturing concepts and technologies
- Take the lead and implement Core Manufacturing Engineering projects, together with our Business Units and regions; for example, the implementation and continuous expansion of automation in our (manufacturing) processes
- Be responsible for the preparation and execution of workshops and process analysis in our manufacturing sites with the target of “demand analysis”
- Act as a point of contact, advising internal customers at the conceptual level regarding to innovative digital applications and support in the process of practical implementation
- Manage special projects in the area of Core Manufacturing Engineering (incl. analysis and benchmarking on material flow, automation, robotics, systems)
- Prepare cost and resource estimates, project schedules, reports and presentations
- Prepare and complete tasks within the field within due time and in an appropriate way
- Monitor and follow-up assigned projects and sub-projects regarding timely completion, efficient and effective content, and escalate if necessary; depending on the matter of content ensuring confidentiality
- Coordinate and follow up projects within the area
- Prepare and follow-up action plans
- Support project managers and management in project execution
- Give regular feedback on status of assigned tasks
- Handle information with care, reliability, trustworthiness and discretion

Impress us – your qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, maintenance or IT
- Master’s degree or equivalent required, preferably in Industrial engingeering, robotics, automation, physical science or IT
- Experience with new technologies in previous position/assignments and having technology affinity
- Fluent English required, additional language relevant for JSS is a plus.
