Position Summary & Scope:
The position holder is part of the JSS Global Advanced Engineering team, which reports to the VP of Global Manufacturing Engineering. The position holder is an Experts for advanced technologies and manages specific Industry 4.0 projects with focus on Automation & Robotics. He/she acts as a point of contact, advising internal customers (both in regions as well as global team) at the conceptual level regarding automation & robotics and support in the process of their practical implementation.

Responsibilities:
Define, drive and support the digitization of manufacturing of JSS and its business units and processes globally.
Align global agendas, both think out of the box and implement actual Industry 4.0 projects.
Contribute your motivation and creativity to build up the new department “Global Advanced Manufacturing Engineering”.
Frequent activities:
- Foster innovation and identify (future) manufacturing process innovations and resulting potentials (especially in automation & robotics)
- Continuously observe new features and changes with regard to (customer and) supplier behaviour/ systems/ procedures/ processes to recognize changes in time and allow timely response
- Analyze and propose process innovations in automation and robotics
- Guide and support operational units in new technologies
- Recommend and develop process and technology roadmaps together with operational units
- Prepare and recommend implementation plans considering given resource constraints
- Align and exchange with and give input to Core Manufacturing team regarding general standards in automation and robotics, especially under consideration of future manufacturing technologies and trends
- Foster and enable global information exchange and benchmarking regarding automation and robotics
- Optimize operations within the field, unite diverse agendas to common goal, and harness strategic and operational drivers to deliver results
- Align initiatives across regions and divisions
- Evaluate and prioritize automation and robotics projects according to the defined Industry 4.0 roadmap
- Take the lead and implement Industry 4.0 projects, together with our Business Units and regions
- Coordinate and manage global and locally dispersed Industry 4.0 projects
- Be responsible for the preparation and execution of workshops and process analysis in our manufacturing sites with the target of “demand analysis”
- Prepare global benchmarking on automation and robotics, incl. market and supplier benchmarking on a global scale
- Act as a point of contact, advising internal customers (both in regions as well as global team) at the conceptual level regarding automation & robotics and support in the process of their practical implementation
- Manage special projects in the area of Advanced Manufacturing (incl. analysis and benchmarking on material flow, automation, robotics, systems)
- Prepare cost and resource estimates, project schedules, reports and presentations

Impress us – your qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in (advanced) manufacturing technologies, robotics, automation, programming
- Specific experience in defining and implementing highly automated manufacturing lines (especially assembly)
- College/university degree in (electrical) engineering, robotics, computer science, physics or similar
- Multi-cultural and/or global experience
- Deemed as transformational and/or a change agent
- Strong persuasion skills
- Comfortable with functioning in a global matrix operating environment
- Business fluent in English, any other language is a plus (especially Chinese, Spanish, Japanses, German, Romanian, Portuguese)
